Olivia Loomis Merrion is an Emmy®-nominated documentary filmmaker based in Oakland, California. Her work focuses on social justice narratives and examining the crucial roles of art, music and the environment. Her videos have been recognized by Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week, the Atlantic Selects and the Gracies. Her recent directorial collaborations with The Center for Investigative Reporting earned her the 2018 National Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting and a 2018 News and Documentary Emmy® nomination for New Approaches in Arts, Lifestyle and Culture. Olivia is a current grantee of Glassbreaker Films for her upcoming short about a competitive quilt show in Kentucky.
